Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, speaking at a press conference alongside Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, raised strong objections to the manner in which SIR has been conducted. Clarifying his party’s stand, he said the Trinamool Congress is not opposed to SIR itself but questioned why the process was carried out in such haste without proper planning. Responding to allegations made by the Election Commission, Abhishek challenged the poll body to convene a meeting in front of the media, asserting that he would attend and put his views on record openly.
